How many times have you thought to yourself; what are the best home improvements I could do that will net me the most gain when it comes time to sell? Maybe it just me who thinks this because of being in the Real Estate Field, who knows. But for those of you who would like to get the answer to that question, because you do not plan on living in your current home forever. We have put together some information we think you will find useful.
Home Improvements that Pay You Back
So in real estate you hear this all the time, kitchen and baths sell a home. So it is not too surprising that these two home improvements will net you the highest return when it comes time to sell.
One of the things that we suggest if you are like us (no decorating sense whatsoever) visit a couple of the model homes in you area. The builders typically are on top of the latest trends and styles. And they have professional interior decorators stage their model homes for them.
A really good rule of thumb is if you do not see in any of the model homes what you were thinking you wanted to do, than don’t do it.
One area that is frequently overlooked is outdoor living space. Especially if you are in a warmer climate like us here in Tampa. Completing some home improvements and increasing your outdoor living space may not make sense because it is not in the under air living space.
But again, observe what the builders are doing. You will see a wide variety of home improvements in the backyard.
Adding square footage, by adding on to the home came in with the worst of the home improvements with regards to paying you back in the end. And not too mention how much a room addition will wind up costing you.
