It started yesterday, a bonus is that plenty of leading-edge house-ware gadgets have already been leaked online, and some are already on the store shelves.
So whether you’re searching for a unique housewarming gift for yourself or your friends-or maybe you’re just pancake-obsessed-look no farther than these options below.
Cool Gadgets
The smartest smart trash can
The humble trash can has just gotten so much cooler with thanks to the Bruno SmartCan, which is rigged with sensors that not only lift the lid when they detect your presence-saving you all that trouble- but they can also tell what you’re tossing out and add it to your grocery list. And there are no judgments, honest! (You don’t need a computer letting you know to cut down on the Nutter Butter intake. Or do you?) Plus you can dump your dustpan, since if you sweep debris near Bruno’s base, it will vacuum it up. Anticipated to be available in September for $199.
28-second whipped cream
Here’s proof you don’t need a computer chip or even electricity to create a cool new kitchen gadget: Creazy, which is purportedly all the rage in France, creates whipped cream in 28 seconds with just a jar and “magic balls” (which is a weird description, but we’re willing to overlook that, since who doesn’t love instant whipped cream?). Sadly there’s no word on when this simple $17 device will arrive in stores on our shores, so until then maybe you’ll want to grab a few balls and a jar and try your own DIY version.
Clothes folder
Mom Alison Triingale was sick and tired of folding her kid’s clothes. “I kind of just lost it,” she says.So she issued an ultimatum to her husband: “You’re an engineer; fix this.” The end result? Tidy Snap. Essentially ingeniously hinged pieces of plastic, the thing doesn’t fold your clothes for you, but it does help to make this laborious process much easier-and we must say, rolling as opposed to folding is a great way to avoid wrinkles and view your complete wardrobe at one glance. There’s no word on cost or availability yet, but we’re rooting for this one.
Robotic chef
If you pine for a live-in chef, the Gourmia GKM9000 is probably the next most convenient thing. This touch-screen, Wi-Fi-enabled gadget can access recipes then weigh, chop, stir, and cook the food. Basically the one thing it doesn’t do is add the ingredientsand wipe your chin once you’re full. Anticipated to be for sale around April for $600.
Your face on a pancake
Last but not least, there’s the PancakeBot, which “prints” pancakes in virtually any shape or design, including self-portraits. Ever since it was introduced at last year’s show as being a prototype, pancake pics of newscasters’ smug mugs have proliferated online; you can now take part in the fun and buy your very own. Currently available for $300.
