A number of fireworks shows are planned all over the Tampa Bay area in honor of Independence Day. Tampa Bay area residents hoping to take in fireworks in honor of the 4th of July are in luck. A number of festivities have been announced in communities throughout the region. Here are just some of the events planned around the Tampa Bay area.
Independence day Fireworks Guide 2016: Tampa Bay Events
Channelside Bay Plaza 4th of July Celebration – Billed as being the Tampa area’s largest summer fireworks show, the July 4 event takes place at 615 Channelside Drive in Tampa. The festivities kick off with live music, entertainment and family friendly activities at 6 p.m. The celebration is set to finish at 10 p.m.
Fireworks at the Clearwater Threshers Game – This event kicks off July 3 at 6:15 p.m. at Bright House Field, 601 Coachman Road, as the Threshers face off against the Brevard County Manatees. A fireworks spectacular is planned following the game.
Fireworks at the Dunedin Blue Jays Game This July 3 show takes place after the Dunedin Blue Jays play the Tampa Yankees at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, 373 Douglas Ave., Dunedin. The free event also includes a post-game concert.
Tarpon Springs Fireworks – The city of Tarpon Springs plans to start its day having a patriotic picnic in Craig Park starting at 10 a.m. Fireworks are going to go off after sunset at Fred Howard Park, 1700 Sunset Drive. The ideal viewing is from the beach.
4th of July All American BBQ – Sarasota’s Marie Selby Botanical Gardens plans its barbecue on July 4 starting at 6 p.m. The event at 900 S. Palm Ave. costs $30 for members and $35 for non-members. It features barbecue, music from the Lauren Mitchell Band along with a fireworks show over Sarasota Bay.
Clearwater Celebrates America – This massive event happens in Clearwater’s Coachman Park, 301 Drew St., starting at 4 p.m. July 4. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. and includes such acts as Aubrey Wollett, The Ries Brothers, the Coachman Park Pops along with the Wilsons. The free family celebration includes food, drinks and local vendors. Fireworks begin between 9 and 9:30 p.m.
Safety Harbor 4th of July Celebrations – This community’s celebrations begin at 10 a.m. July 4 with a parade on Main Street. The fun then moves to the Safety Harbor Marina at 5 p.m. for live music by the Mercy McCoy Band and Stimulus, food and activities. The fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.
