The “ Old Northeast " neighborhood in St. Pete has certainly earned its name. It was the first neighborhood established in St. Petersburg, Florida, and to this day, it retains much of its historical charm and beauty.

The neighborhood loosely spans from Tampa Bay west to 4th St. N., and is bordered by 5th Ave. N. and 30th Ave. North.

Because of its close proximity to I-275, the neighborhood is convenient to most of the Tampa Bay area- including Clearwater, downtown Tampa, and Bradenton.

If you’re in the mood to get outdoors and enjoy the Florida sunshine, you won’t need to go far from here. The North Shore Park is within walking distance and it has a playground, dog park, beach, an aquatic complex (which offers lessons, slides, and activities), plus sports fields, grassy areas, restrooms, and picnic shelters.

Walk just a short distance to the other direction, and you’ll find the waterfront North Straub Park, which features a scenic waterfront trail for bikers, hikers, and walkers. There’s also an outdoor stage for public performances.

Residents of this neighborhood have easy access to all of the cultural events, fine dining, and attractions that are offered anywhere within the Tampa Bay area.

Homes in the neighborhood include condos as well as historical and modern single-family homes. Recent prices have ranged from the low $100,000’s to nearly $3.5 million.

There are several schools nearby, including North Shore Elementary, John Hopkins Middle, and St. Petersburg high School. There are also quite a few private schools and daycare facilities available nearby.
