The Bloomingdale area of Valrico (near Brandon) is an expansive tract with over 5,200 homes ranging from modest villas to spacious, upscale single-family homes.

Schools in the area include Cimino Elementary, Alafia Elementary, Burns Middle, and Bloomingdale High School. There are also several daycare facilities as well as preschools and private schools.

If you enjoy golfing, you'll be glad to know that there's a course right in the area- Bloomingdale Golfers Club. It's been voted Tampa Bay's #1 golf course 10 years in a row. The Ron Garl-designed course is in an unspoiled, natural old-Florida setting with 13 lakes. Other nearby courses include Diamond Hill and Buckhorn Springs Golf & Country Club.

A variety of restaurants are in the immediate area. Whether you're looking to pick up a quick takeout meal on the way home, or splurge for a formal sit-down dinner, there's an abundance of options.

There's plenty to do nearby, too. The James McCabe Theater in Valrico offers live performances in a historic, turn-of-the-century building. The Florida Academy of Performing Arts offers classes and puts on a number of musical and theatrical productions throughout the year. There are numerous places to enjoy live music and other entertainment, too.

There's plenty of shopping nearby- department stores, grocery stores, and pharmacies are all very close. The Westfield Brandon mall is only about 15 minutes away.
